Outside the courtroom, both Ms. Finizio-Bascombe and Mr. Finizio have been recognized for their contributions to help make their community a better place in which to live. Paul has been recognized and awarded with the Distinguished Alumni of the Year award by the Nova Southeastern University School of Law. Jamie has received the March of Dimes Women of Distinction Award. Jamie is President of the Nova Southeastern School of Law Alumni Association and past President of the Broward Women Lawyers Association, a Chapter of the State of Florida Association for Women Lawyers as well as Past President of the Coalition of Hispanic American Women (CHAW) of Broward. Jamie & Paul are both also members of the Board of Governors of Nova Southeastern University School of Law.

Paul is an Instructor for Dale Carnegie Training Programs and both Paul and Jamie are long standing members of Toastmasters International, where they both have won speech competitions at various levels.  Paul is a recognized speaker in South, Central, and North America having spoken before audiences of thousands. It is this commitment to our community that forms the basis of our values and traditions and serves as the cornerstone of our success. Both Paul and Jamie have been residents of Broward County since 1971.
